Polychronis Enepecidis (12 June 1917 – 12 October 2014) was a Greek historian and professor at the University of Vienna.

Polychronis Enepecidis was born on June 12, 1917 in Pontos Amisos studied literature and history at the University of Athens. He was educated at the Universities of Paris and Vienna, where he was awarded a doctorate, later taking over as professor and in 1960 Professor at the seat of Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies at the University of Vienna, where from 1974 to 1992, when he retired, he was head of the Institute of Byzantine Studies.

Enepecides was particularly involved in historical research in archives and libraries in Austria, France, Germany, Greece, Switzerland, Italy, Britain and Hungary.

He collaborated with well-known publications in Greece, mainly with newspapers The Step, Kathimerini and Macedonia. From 1955 he was a member of the Foreign Press Correspondents Association in Vienna.
