Timis Efthymiou is a Greek Cypriot politician. He was Minister of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environment and MP in the Limassol Electoral District elected with DISY.

Biographical data
Timis Efthymiou was born in Limassol in 1955. He speaks, beyond Greek, English. He studied dentistry at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and worked as a dentist surgeon.

Path Policy
In the 1986 municipal election he was elected a councillor in Limassol Municipality with DISY.

He was elected MP in the 1991 parliamentary election in the Limassol Electoral District with the Liberal Democratic Alarm-Communist coalition for the Sixth Parliamentary Period. He was Vice-President of the Parliamentary Committee on the Environment, a member of the Committee on Transport and Works, a member of the Committee on Health and a member of the Joint Parliamentary Committee of Cyprus - European Union.

In the 2003 presidential election he supported Tassos Papadopoulos, who was elected. On 3 March 2003 he was appointed Minister of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environment to the government of Tassos Papadopoulos, a position in which he remained until 13 June 2006.

In 2004 he founded the Free Citizens movement, which in 2008 joined DISY. Timis Efthymiou served as party president throughout his existence.

In 2015 he was appointed Commissioner of the Agricultural Payments Agency by President Nikos Anastasiades.
