Rallye Team Spain is a private Spanish rally team created by the Royal Spanish Automobile Federation in 2018. He has since participated in Spain, both in the asphalt and land championship and in foreign tests of the European and world championship. The pilots who have passed through the team are: Efrén Llarena, Jan Solans, Nil Solans and occasionally José Antonio Suárez, Emma Falcón and Iago Gabeiras. In the case of Llarena and Solans, they obtained a position on the team after winning the Júnior R2 Scholarship, a promotional cup organized by the federation to empower young pilots.

In 2019 Jan Solans won the title of world champion júnior and Efrén Llarena the European júnior championship and the victory in the category ERC3, both under the colors of the Rallye Team Spain.

History

Efrén Llarena was the first pilot to win the Júnior R2 Scholarship organized by the federation to empower young pilots and that he started in 2017. In this way he won a prize with a Peugeot 208 R2 in the European Championship. He fired five tests and obtained three podiums in the category ERC Junior U27, ending in third position. In 2019 he repeated his program by improving his results: he won victory in the young category in the Azores, a second place in the Canary Islands. After a fifth place in Liepaja and a drop-out in Poland, after a major accident, he went to Rome where he added another podium, a third place, and finally obtained victory in the Zlin Rally and the European junior title. Weeks after this Llarena triumph has another title in Cyprus, the ERC3.

After winning the Júnior R2 RFEDA Scholarship in 2018, Jan Solans had a Ford Fiesta R2 with which he played the World Junior Championship during the 2019 season with debut at the Swedish rally.

In October 2019 the federation presented the team that will represent Spain at the FIA Motorsport Games that will be held from 1 to 3 November. The Rallye Team Spain will be present in the GT Cup category, with Lamborghini Huracán piloted by Fernando Navarrete and Álvaro Lobera; in the Formula 4 Cup with Belén García and in the Touring Car Cup Gonzalo de Andrés to the commands of a Peugeot 308 GTI.

In 2020 Efrén Llarena faced the European championship with a new setting, Citroën C3 R5. With him he became sixth in Rome and seventh in Liepaja, but in Hungary he achieved his first European podium after Andreas Mikkelsen and Gregoire Munster first and second respectively. It was also the first podium for Rallye Team Spain. Josep Bassas faced the categories ERC 3 and ERC3 Júnior where he added a victory and three podiums to both.
