Rashad Wright
Rashad Ralphil Wright (born March 17, 1982) is an American former professional basketball player.
Early Life and Education
Wright was born in Statesboro, Georgia. He played college basketball for the University of Georgia Bulldogs from 2000 to 2004.
Career
Wright's professional career began in 2004 when he was selected by the Indiana Pacers with the 59th overall pick in the NBA draft. However, he did not make it to the final team and instead signed with Panionios Athens in Greece for the 2004-05 season. He then played for KK Hemofarm in Serbia during the 2005-06 season.
In 2006, Wright joined Telindus Oostende in Belgium, where he won a Belgian championship title. However, his stay was short-lived due to an injury that forced him to leave after only nine games with Efes Pilsen Istanbul in Turkey.
Wright then moved to Alba Berlin in Germany in 2008, which was coached by Luka Pavićević since 2007. During his time at Alba Berlin, he won the German Cup title in 2009 and reached the last 16 of the EuroCup.
Post-Playing Career
After retiring from professional basketball, Wright transitioned into coaching. He currently serves as an assistant coach and head junior varsity (JV) coach.
