Ready Steady/After Tonight
--- CONTENT--
Ready Steady/After Tonight is a 45-round Demetrio Stratos, released in 1966 under the pseudonym The Clockwork Oranges.
Description
Over the years, a number of hypotheses have been advanced on those who hide under this pseudonym, assuming that they could have been the Poohs, depicted on the cover.
The music journalist Vito Vita discovered instead that it is the first record of Demetrio Stratos: during an interview made to Maurizio Vandelli the singer of Equipe 84 explained that it was an operation realized by Armando Sciascia, patron of Vedette, at the moment when the group was abandoning the label to pass to the Dischi Ricordi, using the musical base of Equipe 84 but replacing the vocal track.
Then there was the confirmation of Aliki Andris (who resided in Connecticut), responsible for the foreign sector of Vedette and interviewed by Vito Vita, who explained that Demetrio Stratos worked at that time (previously at his entrance to the Rebels) as a session-man at the Vedette College, thanks to the knowledge with the Andris (because of their common origin they had Greek tied); the teacher Sciascia asked to sing these two English songs
A third confirmation was given the wife of Stratos, Daniela Ronconi, always interviewed by Vito Vita, who added other details, namely the participation in the choirs of a friend singer of Stratos, Giorgio Giuliano, and the recording of the vocal tracks made in London.
Ready Steady is the English version of Before starting, while After Tonight of Unending Night, both previously recorded in Italian by Equipe 84.
