Rebellion on a Ship is the seventh studio album by the Russian punk rock band The King and the Jester. Released November 13, 2004. It differs from previous albums with a heavier sound and is the first release of the group recorded after the departure of violinist Maria Nefyodova. The album is also characterised by being recorded live in the studio. Three songs from the album are about pirates and seafaring. The song "Northern Fleet" became the first composition on a historical theme. The last album recorded with the participation of bass guitarist Alexander Balunov.

History of creation
In early 2004, after an American tour, the violinist Maria Nefyodova left the group. Her departure upsets fans and fans of the band, but it gives the musicians a big advantage. According to bassist Balu, he and Michael had a serious conversation, during which they came to the conclusion that this LP will be recorded as quickly as the previous albums, and the next one needs to work without haste. He explained it as follows: since they received money from the sale of rights, there is no special desire to give the public only the best compositions, and from the next album it will be possible to release masterpieces. Also, guitarist Alexander Leontiev began to gain a decent musical weight as an arranger and began to insist that the group played in the style of The Exploited. At first, Michael refused him rudely, but eventually changed his mind. In addition, before the trip Potshka on vacation to Cyprus with his future second wife Olga, he and Prince also had a serious conversation, in which Michael announced the decision that he did not bring his songs to his music, to which the Prince took this position into bayonets, as it infringed on his rights as a second composer. Therefore, the sound director of the band Pavel Sazhinov suggested the idea to record the album live, as a live album is usually recorded, but the responsibility on the musicians lay great, since if you made a mistake everything had to be re-recorded again. As a result, the music was recorded in 2 days (usually during this time drums were recorded).
