The Renaissance Deryneia is a Cypriot football team based in Deryneia, Famagusta Province. It is part of the sports association Renaissance Deryneia. The association's men's football team was created in 1937. The group's seat is the closed Renaissance Hall in Deryneia. He has won the Cyprus Cup twice (under the auspices of the Greek Football Federation Cyprus). The team's colors are green and white.
History
The Renaissance union (as the Reading "Omonia") created a petospheric team from 1937–38. Although there were no serious opponents then, the sport was particularly popular in the area. The first field of the team was the courtyard of the Reading Room. In 1949 the first games were held on an organized basis, the First Official Provincial Petosphere Championship with the Reading "Omonia" crowned champion.
The football team has participated in the Cypriot events since their founding in the 1970s. In the 1970s and 1980s he had a strong group. In 1974 the league was organized under the auspices of the Greek Football Federation Cyprus and the Renaissance finished in second place. In 1976 and 1977 he participated in the cup final, which was also held under the auspices of the Greek Football Federation Cyprus. During both years, Olympiacos Nicosia was rival. The Renaissance won both years the trophy by winning 3–2 sets in both finals.
In 1978 the Cyprus Football Federation (COPE) was founded with the Renaissance as one of its founding members. In 1978 he participates in the first cup final under the auspices of the COPE but loses the trophy to the Reparation with 3-0 sets. In 1979 and 1980 he finishes in second place of the league, behind APOEL.
The team then went up and down between first class and second class. It took more than three decades to claim a trophy. In 2012-13 he participated in the cup final, where he lost the trophy to AEK Karavas 3-0.
The following table shows the course of the Renaissance in the events of the COPE (for all periods identified).
