Remon van de Hare (born May 23, 1982, in Amsterdam) is a former Dutch basketball player.
Career
Van de Hare began his career playing for the offspring of Piranhas Amsterdam. In 1999, he moved to the youth area of FC Barcelona and also played on loan for Club Basquet Inca during the 1999-2000 season. However, he was unable to secure a permanent place in Barcelona's professional team in the Spanish league ACB.
Van de Hare remained with Barcelona until 2005, during which time he played nine games in the ACB and five games in the EuroLeague. He was mostly used in Barcelona's second men's team but failed to make an impact. Aíto García Reneses, Barcelona’s coach until 2001, ranked van de Hare's development ability as follows: "He could become a good player, but not a star." As a complementary player in Barcelona’s professional team, he contributed to winning the EuroLeague title.
Professional Career
Van de Hare played as a center and stood at 2.22 meters (7'3.25") tall. He was picked in the second round of the 2003 NBA draft by the Toronto Raptors but never played for them. In addition to his time with Barcelona, he also represented the Dutch national basketball team.
National Selection
Van de Hare played with the Dutch basketball selection in 2008, participating in the B Division.
