Career
Cappellini comes from the offspring of Inter Milan. As a nineteen-year-old, the striker made his debut in 1963 under coach Helenio Herrera, but was initially unable to prevail in the famous team and was awarded to the CFC Genoa for one year.
From 1963 to 1968, Cappellini made 65 appearances for Inter, scoring 22 goals. In 1966 he became Italian Champion with Inter. From 1968 Cappellini played for AS Varese, AS Rome, Como Calcio and FC Chiasso. In 1977 he finished his sporting career.
Cappellini played two games for the Italian national team in 1967 – against Cyprus and Portugal – where he scored the compensation goal in the latter game.
