Renato Margaça

Early Life and Career

Renato João Inácio Margaça (; born 17 July 1985) is a professional footballer who holds both Cypriot and Portuguese citizenship.

Margaça primarily plays as a midfielder, but can also operate as a left-back due to his versatility.

Club Career

Born in Covilhã, Portugal, Margaça began his professional career at the Alverca club. He played 6 games for the team during the 2004–05 season in Segunda Liga. However, after the club was disbanded, he continued his career in lower categories with Fatima, Torreense, and Mafra.

In 2008, Margaça moved to Cyprus, where he spent over a decade playing in the First Division. He started at Glory Katokopias before signing with AEK Larnaca two years later. On 8 July 2017, he renewed his contract with Nicosia until June 2020. For the 2018-19 season, Margaça signed with New Salamina, and in the summer of 2019, he joined Nea Salamis Famagusta FC on a two-year contract.

International Career

At youth level, Margaça has represented his country with 11 appearances for the National Team's youth squad.
