Early Life and Club Career

Renato Steffen (born November 3, 1991) is a Swiss professional footballer who plays as a winger for the Lugano club and the Switzerland national team.

### Early Career

Steffen began his career at Erlinby, Aaron, before moving to Chevetta. In adult football, he played for Golden Path in the third country division, making 27 appearances during the 2011 season.

### Thun (2012-2013)

In the 2012-13 season, Steffen joined Superleague 'Tung' team, where he made his debut on September 2, 2012, against Servette. He scored his first goal for Thun on October 6, 2012, in a match against Grasshopper.

### Young Boys (2013-2016)

On July 1, 2013, Steffen moved to Young Boys for €500,000. During his time at the club, he won the silver medal in the Swiss championship in the 2014-15 season and played 11 matches in European competitions. He made his European debut on July 31, 2014, against Ermis in the third qualifying round of the European League.

### Basel (2016-present)

On January 12, 2016, Steffen joined Basel, where he currently plays.

International Career

Steffen has been a member of the Switzerland national team and has represented his country at various youth levels.
