Reto Ziegler

Reto Pirmin Ziegler (born 1 January 1970 in Geneva) is a Swiss international footballer who plays in the rear, rear, rear and middle left position, or central defender at FC Sion.
Biography
Early career
Ziegler started his football career with the Servette FC before signing with the Swiss club Grasshopper-Club Zürich.
After two years in Zurich, Ziegler signed in the summer of 2004 in favour of Tottenham Hotspur's London club.
A great career abroad
Although he was only 18, he quickly made his first team debut and became an important member of the team with coach Jacques Santini, who trusted him. Santini left the club in October after only a few months. With the successor, Martin Jol, Ziegler played mostly on the left but also in the midfield position.
Reto Ziegler plays 31 games in all competitions, including 23 in the Premier League. He progresses a lot and becomes a very promising player. It also becomes very popular with fans. He scored his first goal against Everton on New Year's Day. At the end of the season, he was named "Best Young Player of the Year", a reward given to a young Tottenham player by his fan club.
In the summer of 2005, he was loaned to a German club in Bundesliga, Hamburg SV, where he played 11 games, including three in the UEFA Cup. He is recalled by his club in Tottenham in , and he is again loaned, this time to another English club in Premiership, Wigan Athletic.
For the 2006-2007 season, he is again loaned, this time to the Italian club of Sampdoria, until the end of the season. On , Ziegler played his first A Series game with his new club against Parma. At the end of the season, Sampdoria bought it for two million euros.
He played more regularly in the 2008-2009 season, and won the following season as an indisputable player under Luigi Del Neri. Courted by the Juventus, however, he remains in Genoa.
He finally signed a five-year contract with the Juventus. He is joined by his national teammate Stefan Lichtsteiner. But having not been assured of a place of tenure, Ziegler is loaned to Fenerbahçe for the rest of the 2011-2012 season. He won the Turkish Cup with the Turkish club, after a year when he became an indisputable holder throughout the season.
The following season, he was loaned to Russia, Lokomotiv Moscow
At the end of the season, he was loaned back to the Turkish club in Fenerbahçe until the end of the season. The Turkish club reached the semifinals of the Europa League where it was eliminated by Benfica (1-0, 1-3) and won the Turkish Cup.
In the end, Switzerland is once again lent by the Juventus, this time in Serie A, joining the club of Sassuolo in Emilia Romagna for a year. Since Ziegler was no longer desired by the Turin club, he left the Juve at the end of the 2013-14 season.
