Réka Király

Réka Király, Hungarian: Király Réka (born September 21, 2001 in Budapest), is a Hungarian handball player. She is Hungarian national player in the discipline Beachhandball and first division player in indoor handball.
Király studies at the Testnevelési Egyetem, the sports university in Budapest.
Indoor handball
Réka Király received her training at Érd HC. It plays on the far right. In 2019 she was third with Érd in the Hungarian Cup competition and fourth in the national championship. In the 2019/20 season, she had a second game right to win match practice at the second division team Budaörs Handball. With Érd she retired in the group phase of the EHF Cup 2019/20.
Beachhandball
Juniors
Király first celebrated her greater successes in beach handball. She was part of the Hungarian team at the Beachhandball Junior European Championships 2016 (U16) in Nazaré. In addition to her, Csenge Braun, Rebeka Benzsay, Sára Léránt, Gréta Hadfi and Dorottya Gajdos already belonged to the squad, with whom she formed the backbone of the junior national team in the next few years. The Hungarians certainly won the first game against Lithuania, then lost to Norway in two short sets and finally won the last preliminary round game against Switzerland in outstanding manner. In the second game she scored one, in the third game two points. As a second table, the Hungarians moved to the quarterfinals, where they defeated Portugal in the shootout. Király contributed two points. In the further placement matches, Germany was defeated in the shootout, with Király with seven points scored second best thrower of their team, in the last match for fifth place Croatia in two sets. Again, she was, now with eight points scored, the second best thrower of her team.
Also in the following year, Király was part of the Hungarian team for the Beachhandball Junior European Championships 2017 on Lake Jarun near Zagreb. The team played a good tournament. In the preliminary round, the first four games against Romania, Poland, Germany and Ukraine were won, especially the first two games very clearly. Only the last game against the Netherlands was lost in the shootout, with a weak Hungarian performance especially in the second set. In the five games Király scored 30 points, especially against Ukraine she was the outstanding player of her team with 17 points. As second place in the table, the Hungarians moved into the quarter-finals and beat Spain in the shootout. In the semi-finals, as in the previous year, Portugal was the ending point in the quarter-finals. In two close defeats in the sets, Hungary missed the only one in the final, as in the quarter-finals, Király remained without goals. In the match for third place, Hungary had to beat Germany.
