Tennis Career

Federer is a former professional Swiss tennis player. He has been consistently ranked among the top ten in the world since October 2002 and November 2016, and among the top twenty since April 2001 to date. Many sports commentators, critics, and current and former players consider Federer one of the greatest tennis players of all time.

Achievements

Federer holds several global records in the Open Era:

* Staying at the top of the world rankings for 310 weeks, including 237 consecutive weeks from 2004-2008
* Winning 20 Grand Slam men's singles titles
* Reaching the final five times or more in each of the four major tournaments
* Reaching the Wimbledon final 12 times

He is one of eight men, and among five in the Open Era, to have won all four Grand Slam titles. Federer also holds the record for most Wimbledon titles with eight wins, and in the US Open with Jimmy Connors and Sampras with five titles.
