Rolf Blättler (* 24). October 1942 in Uster is a former Swiss football player whose greatest success was winning the Swiss Championship with FC Basel in 1972. Furthermore, he came in 28 games for the Swiss national football team and was three times goal scorer king of the National League A.

Association
In 1963, Rolf Blättler moved as a contract amateur from Aargau club FC Wettingen to Grasshopper Club Zurich, for which he played until 1969 and with whom he became Swiss vice-champion in the 1967/68 season. During his time in Zurich, he succeeded in becoming the top scorer of Nationalliga A three times in a row. In 1964/65 he shared the title with Pierre Kerkhoffs, both had scored 19 goals. When he became the king of scorers in 1965/66, there were 28 goals for Blättler to book, while in 1966/67, when he was at the top of the scorer list together with Fritz Künzli, it took 24 goals. In 1969 Blättler moved to Ticino and joined FC Lugano, whose jersey he wore two seasons. His greatest success at this time was reaching the Swiss Cup final in 1971. There, however, Lugano failed at Servette FC Genève. At his next station, FC Basel, he lost the cup final in the 1971/72 season, but could become Swiss champions in that season with the Baslers. Blättler contributed to the championship of the Red-Blue 7 goals in 18 games. During the 1972/73 season, the offensive player moved to the east of Switzerland to FC St. Gallen. In the five seasons in which Blättler was active for St. Gallen, the club was usually in the lower midfield of the table. The biggest success in this period was the participation in the final of the Swiss Cup in the 1976/77 season. There the Green-Whites drew against the BSC Young Boys with just 0:1 the shorter and thus recorded Blättler the third lost cup final in his Vita. In 1977, Blättler signed with FC Lucerne, who under Albert Sing sought re-emergence in the Nationalliga A – Lucerne had been relegated to the Nationalliga B in 1975. However, the Lucernes only succeeded under Sing's successors Paul Wolfisberg and Josef Vogel in the 1978/79 season. After the completed promotion, Blättler returned to Ticino and ended his active career as player coach at FC Locarno. Overall, Blättler played 332 games in the Nationalliga A and scored 174 goals.

National team
Blättler’s work as a coach in Locarno did not go unnoticed by his former companion Wolfisberg. When Switzerland was looking for a coach for the U-21 national team in 1984, Wolfisberg approached Blättler and hired him as a new coach. Blättler held this office until 1986, before he was inherited by Kurt Linder.
