The Rolf Dieter-Brinkmann-Gesellschaft was a registered association based in Vechta.
History
The association was founded in 1992 in honor of the late poet Rolf Dieter Brinkmann. It was dissolved in November 2012 by decision of members and deleted from the association register in February 2013.
The task of the literary association was to maintain and promote the work and memory of Rolf Dieter Brinkmann as well as literature and other arts associated with the work and effects of Rolf Dieter Brinkmann. To this end, the society promoted contemporary literature and employment with it.
Since 1993, events organized by the company have been held regularly. Exhibitions, lectures, music performances, performances and readings alternated. Among others, Christoph Wilhelm Aigner, Theo Breuer, Peter O. Chotjewitz, Kurt Drawert, Michael Hamburger, Ulla Hahn, Sarah Kirsch, Hermann Peter Piwitt, Jürgen Theobaldy, Richard Wagner, Peter Waterhouse, Wolf Wondratschek and Gerald Zschorsch performed in events of the association.
