Roman Empire
**Hatti**
================
**Early History**
-----------------
The Hattian state was a powerful ancient state in Small Asia, which emerged during the 18th century BCE. At the end of the 22nd millennium BCE, the ancestral regime began to decay, allowing for the penetration of Semitic traders (Assyrian and others) into the region.
During this period, several city-states developed in Small Asia, including Punic, Ambuva, Kunchhashana, Ma, Saeura, and others. These states were often at odds with each other, fighting for political hegemony. The Nuranda dynasty initially dominated the region, but later, the city-state of Kassar gained prominence.
**The Rise of Hatti**
-------------------
In the first half of the 18th century BCE, the minister of Kassar, Anita, founded a vast state that would eventually become known as Hatti. This marked the beginning of a new era in Small Asia, characterized by increased stability and expansion.
**Expansion and Peak**
----------------------
At its peak, the Hattian Empire stretched across a significant portion of Small Asia, encompassing territories in the north-west (including parts of Alibaba), the Aegena Sea, Cyprus, considerable parts of Syria up to Damascus, and areas along the Euphrates River.
**The Early Kings**
------------------
The early kings of Hatti continued the trend of instability that characterized the Middle Kingdom. The first queen of the Roman Empire, Judericha, was a member of the sister royal family but did not establish a new line of ancestry. Instead, she ousted the first monarch to be king not of the royal dynasty.
Note: There is no clear connection between the Hattian state and the Roman Empire in these sources. The mention of "Roman Empire" in Source 2 appears to be an error or a misunderstanding.
