Early Life and Career
Roman Gennadyevich Oreshchuk was born on September 2, 1975, in Novorossiysk.
Playing Career
Oreshchuk began his career as a pupil of the Novorossiysk DYUSSH "Vodnik". He started playing for local clubs such as "Cement" (then known as "Gekris", "Chernomorets"), before moving to CSKA in 1992. However, he only played six matches for the main team over four seasons and spent most of his time with the reserve team.
In 1994, Oreshchuk participated in the U20 European Championship in Spain, where he scored four goals in four games. He also represented Russia at the U-20 World Championship in Qatar in 1995, scoring one goal in four matches.
During the middle of the 1995 season, Oreshchuk moved to Rostselmash on the invitation of coach Sergey Andreev. In the same year, he played a few matches for the Korean Sonnam Ilhwa in the AFC Champions League, but was sold to Polish Legia for $400 thousand from CSKA.
Post-Playing Career
After retiring as a player, Oreshchuk transitioned into football management and became a sports director. He held this position at FC Dynamo Moscow from June 1, 2016, until his departure on September 6, 2016, by mutual consent.
