Roman Sergeyevich Sharonov
Early Life and Career
Roman Sergeyevich Sharonov was born on September 8, 1976, in Moscow, Soviet Union.
Club Career
Sharonov began his career as a student of the football school "Lokomotiv" Moscow. However, he failed to make it to the main team of the Moscow club and went on to play for several clubs in Russia and abroad. In 1997, he joined the Chinese club "Fuabey", which was followed by a move to the Russian club "Metallurg" Krasnoyarsk in 1998. Metallurg began playing in the first division in 1999, and Sharonov played for the club for six months before moving to Kazan Rubin in 2000.
Rubin won the first division in 2002 and earned a spot in the Premier League. Sharonov made his debut in the Premier League on March 16, 2003, and scored his first goal on July 11, 2003, in a match against Lokomotiv (1: 1). Rubin finished third in the 2003 season.
Sharonov played for Rubin Kazan since 2008. He has also played for other clubs, including Terek Grozny and Shinnik Yaroslavl.
International Career
Sharonov was a participant of European Championships 2004 and 2012.
Coaching Career
As of his playing career, Sharonov is the head coach of SKA-Khabarovsk.
