Early Life and Career
Romano Christian Schmid was born on January 27, 2000, in Graz, Austria.
Club Career
Schmid began his career at USV Vasoldsberg before moving to SK Sturm Graz in 2009. He made his debut for Sturm's amateurs in the Regional League on March 17, 2016, against Annabichler SV. For the 2016/17 season, Schmid moved into the professional squad and made his Bundesliga debut on May 36, 2017, coming on as a substitute for Fabian Koch in the 75th minute against Wolfsberger AC.
In July 2017, Schmid scored his first goal for Sturm Graz in a 3:2 victory over FK Austria Wien. He later moved to Werder Bremen, where he currently plays as an offensive midfielder.
International Career
Schmid has represented various national teams, including the under-15 team of the ÖFB (Austrian Football Association). With the under-17s, he scored eight goals and delivered four assists in international competitions. He participated in the European Under-17 Championship in 2016, playing four games and scoring a goal against Ukraine.
