Ron Moore (basketball)

Early Life and Education

Ronald Keith "Ron" Moore was born on June 16, 1962, in New York City, New York. He played college basketball for two seasons with the Tigers of Salem International University before transferring to the Yellow Jackets of the State University of West Virginia, where he played two more seasons.

College Statistics

During his time at the State University of West Virginia, Moore averaged 21.4 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game.

Professional Career

Moore was selected by the New York Knicks in the 25th position of the 1987 NBA Draft. However, he was traded to the Detroit Pistons before the start of the season in exchange for Sidney Green and a future draft pick. He played nine games with the Pistons, averaging 1.1 points per game.

In the middle of the 1987-88 season, Moore was traded again, this time to the Phoenix Suns in exchange for James Edwards. He played only five games with the Suns before being transferred to other teams.

International Career

Moore also played professionally in France, Argentina, Cyprus, and various minor leagues in his country. In Argentina, he played for Asociación Deportiva Atlética from 1992 to 1993.

Post-Playing Career

After retiring from playing in 1999, Moore served as a player-assistant coach for the Westchester Kings in 1997.
