Russia Turnbull
Ross Turnbull, born on January 4, 1985 in Bishop Auckland, England, is an English football player.
He began his career with Middlesbrough FC in 2002. In 2003, he was loaned to Darlington FC and played one match for them. In 2004, he was loaned to Barnsley FC and played three matches for them. He was also loaned to Bradford City AFC in 2004 and played two matches for them. During the 2004-05 season, he was loaned to Barnsley FC again and played 23 matches for them. In the 2005-06 season, he was loaned to Crewe Alexandra FC and played 29 matches for them.
He joined Chelsea FC at the beginning of 2009 as their second reserve goalkeeper. His most notable appearance was when he started against HB Køge from Cyprus in the UEFA Champions League group stage match that ended with a 2-2 draw. On March 13, he suffered an injury crisis at Chelsea when both the first-choice goalkeeper Peter Čech and the backup goalkeeper Henrique Hilário were injured. The club announced on their website through their coach Carlo Ancelotti that Turnbull would be the starting goalkeeper for his upcoming match against West Ham United, as well as other matches, including a crucial match against Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16.
