Biography
Son of a worker from Siemens and a housewife, raised in Marcianise, Clemente Russo, nicknamed by Don King: "the white hope", is the boxer with the largest number of meetings played by all categories and all the amateur acronyms of the Italian boxing.

He won the World of Amateurs in Chicago 2007 and Almaty 2013 and two silver medals at Beijing Olympics in 2008 and London in 2012. He also won a bronze medal at the 1998 European Juniors, five Italian titles, the 2004 military worlds, and the gold medal at the 2005 Almeria Mediterranean Games.

At the Beijing Olympics he won the silver medal, losing in the final with the Russian Rachim Čakchiev. It was the flag holder of the Italian national team at the closing ceremony of the Olympics on August 24, 2008.
