The beginning of her career (1985-1990)

The 80's and Kostas Charitable
A year later, that is, in 1985, she made her first appearance in a bhuat in Plaka. Later, collaborations with popular artists of 80's began, such as Vassilis Papakonstantinou, Giannis Yokarinis, Anna Vissi and Nikos Karvelas. Costas Charitfolded, with many successes of his own ("Lost in the night", "Tourta chocolate", "Life and chicken", "Lucky") and other artists (Alexia-"Girls are up late", "Stalia stalia", "Love summer", Paulina-"Let's go crazy in Seychelles", "Rose Bikini", Manto-"This summer", "Fill me up", and many more), decided to write the songs of her first album, "My name is Sophia", with the main success of the song "Scolati". After this success, Sophia Arvaniti accepted greater proposals from nightclubs. Her most characteristic appearance was in "Diogenis" with Nikos Karvelas, Paulina, Alexia and Dakis.

Cooperation with Michael Rakintzis (1990-1992)

"Don't talk to me about summers" (1990)
Sophia Arvanitis and Michael Rakintzis were one of the typical couples of the 1990s, such as Nikos Karvelas with Anna Vissi, both in the music scene and in life. The first result of their collaboration was the platinum album "Don't talk to me about summers", which made the song a success. Other successful songs from the same album were "not staying here", "like the first time", "anyway", "somewhere" and more.

"Paraphoria" (1992)
The next result of the collaboration between Michael Rakintzis-Sophia Arvanitis was the album "Paraphoria". Sophia Arvaniti wanted to experiment in a new fashion, which had just begun to become more popular: folk. Michalis Rakintzis satisfied her wish in the songs "We Gone" (slightly popular orchestration) and "Autoro" (with oriental elements), which did not bring the expected success. Worth mentioning is Bonnie Tyler / Bonnie Tyler's participation in the track "I Die in the Desert (The Desert is in your heart)", a track of rock and Oriental elements, which was one of the factors that made the platinum album. Another was the track "I got involved", for which a video clip was filmed with Sophia Arvanitis and Michael Rakintzis. This video was played on the channel
