Sotiris Pastakas is a Greek poet. He was born on 13 December 1954 in Larissa, and in 2013 he returned to her. He studied in Medicine (Rome) and took the specialty of Psychiatry in Dafni. He worked as a psychiatrist for thirty years in Athens.

He has published fifteen poetry collections, a theatrical monologue, a book with essays, one with short stories and translations of Italian poets. In 2001 he participated in the founding of the World Poetry Academy in the city of Verona, and in September of the same year he received a scholarship from Hawthodorn Castle, International Retreat for Writers, near Edinburgh.

He has read poems at various International Poetry Festivals (Sarajevo 2006 and 2011, San Francisco 2007, Rome 2010, Izmir 2012, Cairo 2013, Istanbul 2014 etc.)

He has been a member of the Society of Writers since 1994 and has established various publications and electronic journals: WHOIN (2001) , APSENDI (2006), THRAKA (2013), FTERAHENAS (2015).

He is also a radio producer and an experiential writing teacher. He has been translated into fifteen languages and his book "Trilogy" (ed. Presence, 2012) was released in the US in 2015, titled "Food Line", translated by Jack Hirsman and Angel Sakki.

His first book with short stories "Doctor Psi and his patients" was released in 2015 by the Melani publications.

In December 2015 he was awarded the Annibale Ruccello Award for Poetry at the Third Teatro Stabia Festival. On 5 February 2016 he was declared winner in the Ritratti di Poesia competition by Fontazione Roma. In the spring of 2016 he released a personal poem anthology (1986–16) in Italian titled "corpo a corpo" from Casa della Poesia's Multimedia publications.

Radio producer for Larisa Municipal Radio (hourly broadcast "Syssitio"), and Clipartradio.gr (the Friday sessions).

Since 2015 he has been teaching experiential writing in Larissa and Pelion.

In 2015 he released his first book with short stories "Doctor Psi and his patients" from the Ink publications.

In December 2015 he was awarded the Annibale Ruccello Award for Poetry at the Teatro Stabia Festival. On 5 February 2016 he was declared winner in the Ritratti di Poesia.140 (poesia tweet), by Fontazione Roma.

In 2016 his personal anthology with poems of a thirty-year old (1986-2016) “Corpo a corpo” was released in Italy from Multimedia publications, which won the international award NordSud International Prize for Literature/Fondazione Pescarabruzzo.

In 2017 his fifteenth poetry collection "Altsheimer beginning" was released from the Ink publications. The journal "Diorama" published in Nicosia (Cyprus), dedicated two issues to him (#13 and #14), with critical notes on his work.

In 2018 Dr. Psi's sequel was released from the Ink Publications (Dr. Ps among others), and "Savoir-vivre for young writers" by biblioteque.
