Spiro Deberski

Biography

Spiro Nikolov Deberski (born 8 December 1933) is a Bulgarian former footballer.

### Early Life and Career

Deberski was born in Blagoevgrad. He started training football at the local Pirin Club at the age of 12. In 1954, he moved to Rose Valley, Kazanlak, where he spent two and a half years before returning to his hometown.

Football Career

In December 1956, Deberski joined Locomotive (Sofia), where he fully developed his football talent. He made his debut in early 1957 at a win of 3:2 as a guest against Spartacus (Plovdiv), scoring two goals for the team. During his time with Locomotive, Deberski formed a strong attacking partnership with Nikola Kotkov.

### Achievements

Deberski played for Locomotive for 12 years, recording 276 matches and 84 goals in the A Group. He was a key player in the club's championship-winning season of 1963/64, playing 29 matches and scoring 14 goals. Deberski also served as vice-president of the club during the 1964/65 season.

International Career

Deberski represented Bulgaria at the 1960 Summer Olympics.
