Biography

Stavros Georgiou (; born September 14, 1972) is a Cypriot football manager and former international footballer. He was born in Famagusta, Cyprus.

Club Career

Georgiou began his professional career in 1997 at the Apollo club Limassol, for which he played 21 matches in his debut season and scored 3 goals in the Cyprus championship. In 1998 he moved to Ethnikos Achna, where he quickly became a player of the base. He then moved to APOEL Nicosia in the course of the 2001/02 season, with whom he won three Championships (2002, 2004, 2007), one Cup (2006) and one Super Cup (2004). In the 2006/07 season, Georgiou returned to Ethnikos Achna for a brief period, playing another 7 matches. He then moved to the club of the third division PAEJK in 2007, which he helped enter the second division in the same season. He played for PAEJK until his career ended in 2012.

International Career

Georgiou made his debut for the Cyprus national team on October 11, 2003, playing a total of 10 games until 2005.

Coaching Career

After retiring as a player, Georgiou transitioned into coaching. He is currently the manager of Ethnikos Assias team.
