- CONTENT -
The BBC's Hebrew broadcast was the Hebrew language broadcast of the BBC's foreign broadcasts, designed for listeners in Israel, broadcast from 1949 to 1968.

Starting the broadcasts
The BBC's Hebrew hour broadcasts began on October 30, 1949. It was the first Hebrew broadcast to listeners in Israel broadcast from a foreign radio station, after the establishment of the State of Israel. Following him, Cole America's Hebrew broadcast in 1951, the Jewish radio broadcast from the Damascus Voice from Syria, which began broadcasting in 1952 and the Egyptian radio station in Hebrew (which later took the nickname "The Voice of the Thunder Machar" which began broadcasting in 1953. In contrast to the last two broadcasts of false propaganda in Hebrew, the Hebrew broadcast from London was a broadcasting of affairs to the best tradition of the BBC, a fan of Israel and broadcast by Israeli transmitters.

The station broadcast during the evening by the Israeli clock in short waves. The first broadcast opens with the words of Dr. Mordechai Aliash Israel’s blessing in London.

The Station Team
The Hebrew Broadcasting Director was a Jewish, Polish-born lion, a jurist in his education that came to England before the outbreak of World War II. The BBC's Hebrew broadcast was half an hour a day, while its broadcasts in Arabic lasted four and a half hours a day. The program aired 7 days a week. At the beginning of the program, the news was broadcast and interpretations from known commentators as Richard Crossman and Joel Kaward. Later, programs were broadcast on cultural, art, and sports. The broadcast is a lot for a well-known Israeli interviewer there, writers from politicians and journalists who visited the UK, about their official and experiences in the UK and from the idea that would send impressions from Israel from known British pages. The Demons were, over the years, the holiday of Pinsker, a voice man of Israel, Jacob a maligner for the days of the first channel of Israeli television, whom the sports dragon I hoped, Uri Eloni, director Michael Almuz and newspaper correspondent Ruth Cohen.

Improved transmission
By 1962, the station broadcast its broadcasts during the early evening. On June 1, 1962, a new broadcast board of the station and its broadcasts began at 23:15 pm. The intention of copying the broadcast time was to increase the listening to Israel for its broadcasts, after the cessation of daily broadcast in Israel’s voice. At that time, Israel’s voice broadcasts ended in a new edition at 23:00 a.m. and renewed the next day at 6:00 a.m. The late evening broadcast was also designed to increase the quality of absorption, as the station broadcast in short waves which during the night hours were taken to better quality. The new broadcast board included the following programs:
“From the Jewish World” on Jewish life in Britain and around the world
"International Interpretation" by British MPs
Close and far - a review of events in the world and the Middle East
English for Beginners in Hebrew
"Ezen for listeners" - you heard comments to the station broadcasts that came from listeners in Israel
“Rape” about events in Britain
"Entertainment and Bread"
"The Sports Scanner"
“News from Industry and Science”

End of broadcasts
In November 1965, the station returned to broadcast its broadcasts during the early evening from 5pm to 17:30, according to the Israeli clock. This was the end of the Jewish broadcast from London. In July 1968, the British Foreign Ministry decided to stop the station broadcasts. The reason that it was possible for the decision was that Hooverrner in Israel did not listen to the station broadcasts, which are broadcast in short waves, which absorb the broadcasts in which it is difficult, because Israel has extensive listening to the BBC's foreign broadcasts in English - BBC World Service broadcast in medium waves (now called AM) through the man's station from Cyprus and is easily recorded in Israel, and that the transfer of Hebrew broadcast through Cyprus may encounter difficulties from the government of Nico. The move is also made with budget requests.
