Tadeáš Kraus
Tadeáš Kraus (22 October 1932 – 31 October 2018) was a Czech football player and coach of Polish descent.
Club Career
Kraus started playing football at Siła Trzyniec, a local Polish sport club in his hometown of Třinec. At the age of 15, he was used in the first team. From 1951 to 1953, he interrupted his career to study at a Prague sports college. Subsequently, the left side forward played for the army clubs Křídla vlasti Olomouc and ÚDA Prague.
In 1956, Kraus moved to Sparta Prague, for which he played for ten years. In the 1963/64 season, he was part of the team that won the Czechoslovak Cup, and in the following year, he helped them become Czechoslovak champions. For Sparta, Kraus completed a total of 458 games, scoring 201 goals.
From 1966 to 1969, Kraus played for LIAZ Jablonec, a second division team at the time. He then went on to Melbourne as player-coach, where he supervised Slavia's team for two years.
National Team
Kraus represented Czechoslovakia in international football. Although specific details about his appearances are not provided, it is mentioned that he was used in the national team.
Personal Life and Family
Tadeáš Kraus was born to a family with Polish ethnicity. His father, Wilhelm, was a metallurgist worker at Třinec Iron and Steel Works and also played football for Siła Trzyniec. Kraus's wife, Anna, was a skilled gymnast who finished fourth at the 1956 Olympic Games.
