Tahinopita

--- CONTENT ---
Tahinopita is a Cypriot cake aromatized with sesame paste.

There are versions that use fast-mass prepared flour with chemical leudant agents (such as sodium bicarbonate or baking powder), yeast versions, and filo layer versions. As most versions do not contain dairy products, eggs, or oil, it is a popular food during Lent and can be considered vegan.

In Greek, pita (πίττα) is a generic word used to refer to bread, invoice, cake or pastry, and tahinopita appoints a roll of sweet bread.
