Takis Papamattheou is a Greek actor and director.

Biography
He was born and raised in Athens. He studied at Athens Law School, Department of Public Law and Political Sciences. Master of the Drama School of the Theatre of Art "Carolos Kun". He has been honored with: theatrical award "Dimos Psathas", first prize for the short film For Electra's love at the US Seattle festival (2016), the Group's praise for UNESCO in 2016, for directing Snitsler with Chekhov vodka. He has starred in ancient drama and Aristophanes at the Festivals of Athens and Epidaurus, the international festivals of Florence, Berlin, Hamburg, Amsterdam, Brussels, Zurich, Sofia, Budapest. His theatrical course includes works of proza Greek and foreign dramatists classical and contemporary repertoire, musical theatre, inspection.

On television he made his first appearance in 1988–89 in the comedy series Like the country sleeps where he starred alongside Lambro Chaga. The comedy series Father son and spirit followed in the 1989–1991 seasons at Mega Channel. In the 1990–1991 season he was a narrator in the comedy series Angel by accident. Over the next five years starring roles followed in the comedy series, We're not well, Victor Hugo's miserable roommates in madness, in the land of escape and the wrong and the opposite. From 1995 to 1998 he was co-host of Sophia Vossos and Eldas Panopoulou on Mega Channel's morning entertainment show Between us, through which he became particularly known to the general public. The U Music comedy series followed in the 2000–2001 season and also the Patras–Venice comedy series two years later. In the 2009-2010 season he starred in the comedy series Diet please on Cypriot television while making an extraordinary appearance in the series The Family Hurts. He has also appeared in various television series as a guest star.

In the cinema he first appeared in 1995 in the social film Life of George Katakuzinos. Soapstone comedy followed: The money on your neck by Nikos Gervous next year. In 2000 he starred in the comedies One enters, two come out of Vangelis Serdardari and Love is an elephant of Stratou Tzitzi. In 2008 he took part in the comedy of Reppa-Papathanasios Strictly appropriate while in 2009 he participated in the American comedy of Nia Vardalos My life in ruins (Love ala Greek). In 2017 he participated in the biographical film Kazantzakis by Giannis Smaragdis and in 2016 he distinguished himself with his performance in the film For Electra's Love by Giannis McCropoulos.

He has taught acting and improvisation at Dramatic Schools and Institutes of Vocational Training (IEK). Known for his passion in chess, he has received numerous distinctions in international tournaments and is a champion of Greek actors in this sport.

In the 2019 parliamentary election he was nominated with Syriza in the first Athens. Finally, by decision
