Tal Banin () (born 1 January 1892 in Kiryat Haim, Israel) is an Israeli footballer who played as a midfielder and coach.
Biography
Player career
Banin began his career at Hapoël Haifa as a defensive midfielder. In 1989, he signed to the Maccabi Haifa, the major local rival, with whom he won the double Champions Cup in 1991.
In 1993, he was recruited by AS Cannes in France and then returned to the club from his debut the following year. In 1997 he became the first Israeli footballer to sign in Serie A at Brescia Calcio, where he played three seasons. He won a third Israel championship in 2003 with Maccabi Tel-Aviv, as well as two other Cups in 2001 and 2002.
International career
On the , he honoured his first selection against the Soviet Union. During this game, he scored his first goal at the match. The game ended with a 3-2 victory for the Israelis. He received his last selection against Cyprus (victory 2-0).
Selected at 77 (or 78) national teams between 1990 and 2003, he was captain from 1997 to 2003. Between 1995 and 2003, he wore 34 times the captain's armband.
Coaching career
Shortly after the end of his career in 2006, he returned to management. In 2010-11, he was the assistant to the national breeder Luis Fernández. The following season he became the coach of the Hapoël Haifa, then the Maccabi Netanya in 2012.
