Brian Lumley
Biography
Brian Lumley was born on 2 December 1937 in the County of Durham.
Military Career
He served for 22 years in the British Army, reaching the rank of Warrant Officer and carrying out missions at strategic points during the Cold War, including Berlin and Cyprus. He retired from the army in 1980.
Writing Career
After retiring from the military, Lumley became a full-time horror fiction writer. He is known for continuing the Cthulhu Cycle by H.P. Lovecraft through his character Titus Crow. This series includes notable works such as "The Transition of Titus Crow" (1975) and "Ithaqua, the monster" (1978).
Necroscope Saga
Lumley's most famous work is the Necroscope saga, composed of 18 volumes. He received the Bram Stoker Award for his career in 2009 and the World Fantasy Award (Lifetime Achievement category) in 2010.
