Team lines-up of the Chess Olympiad 1972

The tables name the lineup of teams at the Chess Olympiad 1972 in Skopje. The 63 participating teams initially played in eight preliminary round groups. From these preliminary rounds came two teams in each of the final tournaments A to C, the remaining teams in the D final. Each team included four regular and a maximum of two substitutes. In the tables, the final placement is mentioned for each team, next to it is the achieved final tournament. The team balances are listed separately for the preliminary and final rounds, but the individual balances of the players in the sum of both tournament phases. For the placement of the teams, the board points were priority.
Results from the preliminary rounds were not included in the final. The teams from the same preliminary group met again there.
Results of the Albanian team
The team from Albania reached the B final. There she should have met Israel in the 8th round, but refused this game due to political reservations.
After that, the Albanians initially continued the tournament, but withdrew completely after 11 rounds of the final group. The results of the completed games were completely cancelled.

In the team record, the results of the final round (without the fightless defeat against Israel) are mentioned. No placement was determined.
