"Tekke Garden Martyr"

Tekke Garden Martyr is a military tomb located north of Nicosia. 21 December 1963 is the first martyrological area built after conflicts of societies. It is located in the west of the Martyrism, from the Nicosia Mevlevihane.

For the first time in January 1964, 24 people believed to die in Ayvasıl (Turkisheli) catamaran were buried without identification. Martyrism has been used in the past years to bay Turkish with Cyprus killed around Nicosia.

The first arrangement of Martyrism was made in 1964 by architect Right Atun. As the number of tombs increases, martyrism is reorganized.

In 1974, the Turkish martyrs and Turkish soldiers who lost their lives during the reign of Cyprus and the Turkish army, firstly they were buried in Tekke Garden Martyr. The seventh of the 84 Turkish military, buried here, was transferred to the Bosphorus Martyr with a ceremony held in 1983. In 1974, when the conflicts take, they were immediately buried in the losers, defins were made to bulk tombs, where five people were together. After passing five-gold months after the mortar, these tombs were separated and the martyrs were buried in separate tombs. However, with the decision of the Presidential initiative and the Council of Ministers in March 5, 2019, it was decided to perform excavation and scientific reporting in the tombs by the Lost Personalities Committee. In these studies, the name of some martyrs was found in the tombs written, in some tombs there were five mins.

According to the official figures in the Tekke Garden Martyr, 155 lies 161 people according to the monument at the entrance of Martyrism. The dispute between the numbers is due to the fact that many people were buried in the Tekke Garden after they were removed from the public tombs in other places.
