Tevfik Alpaslan (* 28). June 1926 in Göynücek, Amasya Province is a former Turkish Major General of the Air Force (Hava Kuvvetleri), who was, among other things, instrumental in planning and conducting Operation Atilla for the occupation of the north of the island of Cyprus by Turkey on 20 June 1926. July 1974 and from 1976 to 1977 was commander of the Air Force School (Hava Harp Okulu).
Live life
Alpaslan first attended the military secondary school in Konya, which he graduated in 1941, and then the Kuleli Cadet Institute (Kuleli Askerî Lisesi). In 1944 he began his officer training at the Army School (Kara Harp Okulu), which he finished on 30 August 1946 as an ensign (Asteğmen). After a subsequent course at the infantry school in Çankırı, he moved to the Air Force, which became independent on 31 January 1944, and began his pilot training in 1948. After various uses in the Air Force, he graduated from 1955 to 1957 the Air Force Academy (Hava Harp Akademisi) and was retired on 29. August 1957 as pilot and later as operations officer to the 141st. Squadron of the 4th Air Force Base. From 30 August 1959 he found use in the combat aircraft training squadron and was subsequently from 1960 to 1962 Air Force Nataché at the Embassy in the People's Republic of Romania.
After his return, Alpaslan became commander of the 88 in September 1962. Fliegegruppe and subsequently on 30. July 1963 Chief of Operational Training of the 8th Air Force Base. After that he acted since the 4. September 1964 as Head of the Operations Department of the 3rd Air Force Command, of which he became Chief of Staff on November 20, 1964. Subsequently, between 31. August 1965 and 30 August 1970 various uses in the headquarters of the Air Force and from August 30, 1970 to August 30, 1971 as commander of the 3rd Air Force Base (3 ncü Ana Jet Üs Komutanlığı). On 30 August 1971 he became Chief of Staff of the Air Force Training Command (Hava Eğitim Komutanlığı) and thereafter on 30 August 1971. August 1973 Head of Operations Department at Air Force Headquarters. in this use he was instrumental in the planning and execution of Operation Atilla for the occupation of the north of the island of Cyprus by Turkey on the 20th. July 1974.
Last was Alpaslan as Major General (Tümgeneral) as successor to Major General Halit Toroslu of 23. August 1976 until his replacement by Major General Yusuf Özer on September 5, 1977 Commander of the Air Force School (Hava Harp Okulu).
