Thalia Charalambous

Thalia Charalambous (born 26 August 1989) is a Cypriot athlete who specializes in medium and long distance running.

Sports Career

Charalambous first gained international experience at the Half Marathon World Championships 2020 in Gdynia, Poland, where she finished 75th with a time of 1:14:40 hours. This performance set a new Cyprus country record for the half marathon event. In 2022, she won the bronze medal in the 5000-meter race at the Balkan Championships in Craiova, finishing behind Luiza Gega from Albania and Yayla Günen from Turkey with a time of 16:27.44 minutes.

Charalambous also competed at the Mediterranean Games in Oran, Algeria, but had to withdraw from her 5000-meter event prematurely. She has been a successful competitor on the national stage, winning the Cypriot championship in the 5000-meter race in both 2020 and 2022.
