"The 13th Cruise"

The 13th Cruise is the naval unit of the Israeli Navy. The permanent basis of the unit is a temporary basis, and is directly subject to the commander of the Navy. The commander of the boat is a naval officer at the rank of a second-party. It is considered one of the four IDF units along with a unit of fish, a IDF patroler and a 669 unit.

History of History
The roots of the squadron are located in the days of the British Mandate, when several naval commando units such as: a unit of integrated operations (Combined Operation) formed by the KGB Group and operated in the Nazi German wing under the British Royal Navy and a naval transport that was established within the Palms, the Palmach marine arm. The link operated in primitive means to transport British combat ships and transport ships organized in the framework of the Palestinian arena established in order to prevent the humiliation to Israel.
With the outbreak of the War of Independence at the end of 1947 and the establishment of the maritime service prior to the Declaration of Independence, two naval commandos began to operate, which originated in the sand, one of the submarines, and the other of boat operators, who carried out several bold actions, in which the paralyzed ring, the flagship of the Egyptian Navy. After the war, the two units were formed, a unit of explosive boats under the command of Yushi Ben-Non, which was stationed in Jaffa and a unit of submarines under the command of Joseph Dror, who was stationed in seafields.
By the end of 1949, it was decided to unite all units, and on January 1, 1950 the unit was established called the 13th cruise. The source of the name during the Palm period, whose members used to meet every 13 months following an event that took place on 13 a month – a ship where the Palm member Wolf Fried drowned, and he was able to reach the beach. The Palmach members decided to meet on this date and raise a toast. It was also immortalized in the "Solden" Pokemon, by a dignified life, in the following line: "In 13 Dan, the son of Amitz, raised another toast, suddenly the corrupt ships emerged."
Yushi Ben-Non was appointed commander of the squadron and Joseph Dror was appointed to his deputy.
After the War of Independence
During the period between the War of Independence and the Six-Day War, no more than 13 opportunities were given to demonstrate its power. The borders of the State of Israel were mainly land-based and the unit were mainly missions of intelligence gathering in enemy ports and its branches (such as a nanny operation).
