Golden Ball 1993

The 38th edition of the Golden Ball, a football prize established by French magazine France Football, was awarded to Italian player Roberto Baggio in 1993.

Winners and Voting Process

Roberto Baggio, who played for Juventus at the time, won the award. The voting process involved 30 specialized journalists from various UEFA member associations, including Albania, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, England, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Scotland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, and Yugoslavia.

Voting System

The voting system used by the jury consisted of each member electing their top five European football players. The first chosen player received five points, the second four points, and so on. This resulted in a total distribution of 450 points, with a maximum of 150 points that each player could obtain if all 30 members chose them as one of their top five.
