Plot

The Beloved is a 1970 British dramatic film directed and written by George P. Cosmatos. The story revolves around Yanni, who returns to his land on a Greek island after several years in London. He becomes involved with Elena, the wife of a friend, leading to a passionate romance that ultimately results in adultery, violence, and crime.

Production

Filming

Filming took place in Cyprus, specifically in the Greek Cypriot village of Karmi, from August 15, 1970. The film was also known as Restless and Sin.

Release

The Beloved was released in 1971, marking George P. Cosmatos' directorial debut.
