The Devil in Sister George EP
--- CONTENT--
The Devil in Sister George EP is the second EP (published in 1994 on Virgin Records) by English singer Boy George, although between the title in blue, medium-sized, where it is specified that it was an EP, and the great name of the artist, reads the small addition "&Jesus Loves You", a group that George had founded at the beginning of the 1990s, parallel to his solo career, and that still less active Of the 5 songs included, the last three were recorded in the same year of the publication, 1994, while the first two were made the year before, in 1993. In March 1994, the EP reached number 26 on the English chart (on albums).
The short extended (which is between the fourth and fifth album of the soloist, respectively of 1990 and 1995) is one of the three most successful extended works for the artist in the motherland (besides his first album of 1987 and a joint collection with the Culture Clubs of 1993). In fact, 'The Devil in Sister George EP can only be considered short on the number of tracks that make up it (five), since in terms of duration, it is approximately the length of a typical album of the eighties (the five pieces are between the 6 minutes of "Everything I Own" and the almost 9 of "Generations of Love", queen undisputed by long and numerous remixes). The same applies to the work of production: seven were the producers who took part in it, including the same Boy George, who, however, mostly worked under the pseudonym Angela Dust, already widely used in the realization of almost all pieces of Jesus Loves You. The EP contains remixes of various kinds, more tending to dance and techno, of pieces originally included in 3 different albums and on 1 EP, made by Boy George alone, with the Jesus Loves You and with the most famous Culture Club.
Following the order of presentation of the EP, the five original tracks can be attributed as follows: "Miss Me Blind" appears on Colour by Numbers, the second album by Culture Club, 1983; "Generations of Love" is the opening piece of The Martyr Mantras, the only long-playing of the Jesus Loves You, of 1990; "Am I Losing Control" is another piece of the Jesus Loves You, not included however on the band's album, since it was subsequently written and instead inserted on the band's EP, Sweet Toxic Love, of 1992, that completes the short discography - the track, here in a acid version
