European Party (Cyprus)

The European Party (Greek: Ευρωπαϊκό Κόμμα, Evropaiko Komma; abbreviated Ευρωκό, "Evroko") was a Cypriot political party that existed from 2005 to 2016.

History

### Establishment
The European Party was founded on June 29, 2005, by Republican Alarm officials led by Dimitris Syllouris, who disagreed with the support of the Annan Plan. The party's founding members also included a majority of the European Republic officials, including three party MPs: Rico Erostocritou and Christodoulos Taramundas, and the New Horizons group that joined the new party.

### Early Years (2006-2011)
In the 2006 parliamentary election, the European Party collaborated with the Racing Democratic Movement. The results were satisfactory for an emerging party, as it gathered 5.75% of the vote and secured three seats in the House of Representatives.

Leadership

The president of the European Party was Dimitris Syllouris.

Disbandment

The party was disbanded in 2016.
