The Man with the Answers

Overview

The Man with the Answers is a 2021 romantic film drama directed and written by Stelios Kammitsis. It is an international co-production of companies from Greece, Cyprus, and Italy.

Plot

The story follows Victor, a young man in his mid-twenties who lives with his grandmother in Patras, a Greek coastal town. Victor is a former successful diver, but now works in a furniture factory. When his grandmother suddenly dies, she leaves him her old Audi, which he decides to take on a road trip to Germany.

On the boat to Italy, Victor meets Matias, a young German who is on his way home. Matias convinces Victor to let him join him on the journey. As they travel together, their relationship develops into a romantic one.

Production

Directed by Stelios Kammitsis, a native Greek who studied film at the State University of New York in Purchase, The Man with the Answers is his feature film debut as a director and writer. Kammitsis has a background in filmmaking, having worked as an assistant to Palme d'Or winner Theo Angelopoulos and later to Dimitris Papaioanou, Artistic Director of the 2004 Olympic Games opening ceremony in Athens. He also worked as a screenwriter for various Greek television series.

Release

The film premiered at the Mardi Gras Film Festival in February 2021.
