or , literally "The Royal Canadian Regiment," is an infantry regiment of the Canadian Armed Forces. It is the oldest such regiment in the Regular Force of Canada. The regiment is now divided into four battalions, one reserve for a total of approximately soldiers. He is the primary occupant of the Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Petawawa in Ontario and CFB Gagetown in New Brunswick. The regiment is not an organizational structure as such, but rather a protocol. The four battalions of the regiment are therefore separate operational units. Nevertheless, the regiment has a regimental headquarters at CFB Petawawa that deals with regimental affairs that are not dependent on the particular units. Since its formation in 1883, it has been employed in almost all conflicts involving the Canadian Armed Forces.

Structure
The regiment consists of four battalions, including three from the Regular Force and one from the Primary Reserve. The regimental headquarters (QG) coexist with the "Victoria Caserns" of CFB Petawawa, Ontario. Regular Force battalions are each under the command of the Mechanized Brigade Group of Canada. The first two battalions are mechanized infantry, while the east is light infantry. For its part, the reserve battalion, the , belongs to the Canadian Brigade Group.

The regiment is not an operational command structure, but rather a protocol, and each battalion forms separate operational units. Since the regiment is not a chain of command, the battalions of the regiment receive direct operational tasks.

The regimental colonel is Major-General Walter M. Holmes, MBE, CD. The regimental colonel is Colonel M.J. Pearson, MSC, CD.

The du () is located on CFB Petawawa in Ontario. The 1RCR is a Regular Force mechanized infantry battalion and uses LAV III (light armoured vehicle) as its main vehicle. The battalion consists of four rifle companies: Company A or , Company B or Bravo, Company C or Company D or Delta. It also includes a support company, E or Echo and a support service company, F or Foxtrot. Company A is called "the", literally "the Duke of Edinburgh Company", or in abbreviated version ".
