“Recently 1961-2003. Our Era is a series of documentary television programs on the history of the USSR and Russia in the second half of the XX century and the beginning of the XXI century on NTV. The author and presenter is Leonid Parfyonov. Each series is dedicated to events, people and phenomena in the USSR and Russia. The initial cycle, which appeared on the screen in 1997-1998, included issues about the years from 1961 to 1991, and later the programs about the years from 1992 to 2003 were also removed (and issues about 2000-2003 were made immediately after the end of each of these years as a summary of their results). In this form, the cycle was published on videotapes and DVDs.

Since 2019, Parfyonov has been releasing an ideological continuation of the program on his YouTube channel - "Nmdni", in the same format and with the same slogan. It includes series about the years from 1921 to 1930, from 1946 to 1960 and from 2004 to 2022.

Structure of the cycle
The first issue consisted of 31 series, covering the period from 1961 to 1991 (USSR). They were accompanied by comments from various famous people: writer Anatoly Strelyany, economist Yegor Gaidar, political scientist Sergey Karaganov and actresses Renata Litvinova and Tatiana Drubich.

The screensavers during all 43 episodes were a kind of joke. They were made of newsreels with an image of Leonid Parfyonov inserted into it as an actor, and their last frame was “photographed” and placed on the front page of the newspaper with a headline; there were screensavers and headlines reading:
