Biography
He was the son of Eustachio.

He fought in the war of Cyprus: in 1570 he was overcommitted of the galea "San Teodoro"; the following year he defended Nicosia and Famagosta, and then participated in the Battle of Lepanto under the command of four galleys. His value earned him the appointment as a senator.

On 31 March 1578 he became consul in Syria for thirty-six months. Returned to Venice in 1582, he married Fiordalisa Contarini but, apparently, he had no children. At this time he drew up a report on Persian politics, although, as he himself stated, he was based only on indirect evidence.

On 12 March 1595 he was created captain of Brescia. From 1 October 1597 he took part in the Council of Ten. He held the election to San Marco's attorney several times, but he was never appointed.

He died for an apoplectic blow in the parish of Sant'Agostino.
