Thierry de Mathonville (Theodoricus) has been in Saint-Évroult since its restoration.

Biography
Originally from Mathonville, Thierry was the goddaughter of Thierry, Abbé de Jumièges and Mont Saint-Michel.

Oblate and then monk of Jumièges, Abbé Thierry named him master of the Oblates and then claustral prior. He would have educated Guillaume de Jumièges at that time.

Thierry was elected by Robert de Grandmesnil, Guillaume Giroie and the monks. The Duke William gave him the lacrosse and he received the blessing ofHugues d'Eu, bishop of Lisieux. He brought with him monks from Jumièges. He presided at the beginning of Saint-Martin Abbey in Sées. He named Robert II of Bellême. He quarrels with his prior Robert de Grandmesnil. He often retired to Sées Abbey. After the death of Guillaume Giroie, he decided to abandon his office and resigned in 1057.

He went on pilgrimage to Jerusalem with Herbert de Montreuil, Gondulf de Rochester, future bishop of Rochester and Guillaume Bonne-Âme, cleric who became abbot of Saint-Étienne de Caen and archbishop of Rouen. During his trip to the Holy Land, he will be housed by Prior Ansgot.

He died in Cyprus and was buried there.
