Early Life and Inheritance
Thomas de Ros, 4th Baron Ros of Helmsley (13 January 1335 – 8 June 1384), was the son of William de Ros, 2nd Baron Ros, and Margery of Badlesmere. He inherited the title of Baron of Ros in 1352 following the premature death of his brother.
Military and Diplomatic Career
In 1364, Thomas accompanied the king of Cyprus to the Holy Land. He also participated in the One hundred Years War between 1369 and 1371. Additionally, he was summoned to parliament by both King Edward III of England and King Richard II of England.
Marriage and Issue
On 12 April 1363, Thomas married Beatrice Stafford (d. 13 April 1415), daughter of Ralph Stafford, 1st Earl of Stafford. The couple had four sons and two daughters:

* Thomas de Ros
* Robert de Ros
* Elizabeth de Ros (married to Thomas Clifford, 6th Baron Clifford)
* Margaret de Ros (married to Reynold Grey, 3rd Baron Grey of Ruthin)
Death and Burial
Thomas died on 8 June 1384 in Uffington, Lincolnshire. He was buried at Rievaulx Abbey. His widow later remarried Sir Richard Burley.
Note: The dates for Thomas' death are inconsistent between the two sources (SOURCE 1 states 1381, while SOURCE 2 states 1384). I have followed the more widely accepted date of 1384.
