Thurgau Silence

Thurgau Silence is a cabin passenger ship built in 2005/06 as Bellevue by Premicon Cruise MV Bellevue LP, a subsidiary of Premicon AG. The ship is operated by KD Cruise Services Ltd. and operated by the tour operator Thurgau Travel on the Rhine and the Danube. The ship was the third type TwinCruiser in which the passenger unit was structurally separated from the drive unit.

History

The Bellevue was, in addition to three used acquired ships, the only new building of the 2005 placed ship fund “River Quartet” of Premicon AG. After the keel was laid in July 2005, the ship was built until March 2006 under the number 507 at the Neptunwerft in Rostock. The ship baptism took place on 26 April 2006 in Cologne. Godmother was the Canadian opera and musical singer Anna Maria Kaufmann. The Bellevue was registered under the ENI No. 04804590 with the home port of Cologne. Until October 2009, there was a time charter contract with Transocean Tours Touristik GmbH, which used the ship on Danube, Main, Mosel and Rhine. Since Premicon became the insolvent company. In 2009, she drove only the Rhine and Mosel. The management was transferred on 1 January 2010 to KD Cruise Services Ltd. in Cyprus, a subsidiary of Köln-Düsseldorfer. Since 2017, the ship has been sailing as Thurgau Silence under the Swiss flag for the tour operator Thurgau Travel.

Equipment

The Thurgau Silence is a 4-star three-deck cabin ship with 97 double cabins of 13 m2 each. The lower deck was named Moseldeck, the main deck is referred to as the Rhine deck and the upper deck as the Danube deck. In addition to supply and storage rooms, 18 crew cabins and the fitness room in the central ship, five passenger cabins are equipped in the Moselle Deck, which are also offered in triple or quadruple occupation by means of folding beds. In the bow area of the Rhine Deck is the restaurant, which is joined by the entrance hall and 46 passenger cabins. On the Danube deck is the lounge with integrated bar, the Vienna Cafe and 46 double cabins. All cabins are equipped with radio, satellite TV, minibar, safe and telephone, the units in the Rhine and Danube deck have a French balcony. The lounge and restaurant are equipped with floor-to-ceiling all-round glazing. The sun deck, which extends over the entire passenger unit, is equipped with deck chairs, seat groups, wind protection walls and sun sails. In the aft, structurally separate drive unit are eight cabins for the nautical personnel.
