Timo Wenzel

Timo Wenzel (born 30 November 1977) is a German football coach and former player.

Career

Wenzel began his career at FC Burlafingen, through the junior department of SSV Ulm 1846 he joined VfB Stuttgart in 1994. In 2000, he completed his first Bundesliga games for the club. After a total of 65 Bundesliga games for the Swabians, the defender switched to the then relegation-endangered 1st FC Kaiserslautern for the winter break 2003/04. Wenzel could help keep the class despite the point deduction. After the relegation in 2006, the second division runner-up FC Augsburg was his new employer. In two years, he played 51 times for the second division.

On 28 April 2008, Wenzel signed a contract with Omonia Nicosia in Cyprus's first league until 2011. After three years, he moved in August 2011 from the Cypriot vice-champion and cup winner from Nicosia to the Greek first division team AO Kerkyra. The defender’s contract ran until 2013.
